Matt McIlwain
Survey Department Manager
Matt began his career in surveying as a rodman in 2000. After many years of developing first-hand experience in the field, Matt was moved inside to manage survey projects. Matt joined PDG in 2015 as the Survey Department Manager. He is responsible for the daily operations of the Surveying Department in the Richmond office. He is also responsible for overseeing and providing assistance to our Survey Crew as they work in the field.
Matt likes to keep client relations in check by reaching out to existing and new clients to see if PDG can be of service and provide services that may be needed.
Matt has worked on many projects with PDG, including:
- Government and Infrastructure
- Mixed-Use Developments
- Commercial and Industrial
- Retail and Hospitality
- Recreational and Medical
- Single Family & Multi-Family Developments
His areas of expertise include:
- Determining scope of services and coordinating with field and office personnel
- Plat preparation for easements, right-of-ways, boundary line adjustments, property conveyance, etc.
- Deed Research and Boundary Surveys
- Construction Staking to include brick points, curb/gutter, roadways, sidewalks, finish floor, etc.
- Physical Improvement Surveys and As-Built Surveys
- ALTA/NSPS Surveys and FEMA Certifications
Matt’s roles and responsibilities include:
- Primary point of contact with you for all surveying services
- Developing the scope of services, you require and coordinating with field personnel
- Reviewing and finalizing survey documents
- Preparing budget proposals for project requests
