CADD Technician | Roanoke

We are currently searching for another great Team Member in our Roanoke Surveying Department. Our new Land Surveying CADD Technician needs 2 years of AutoCAD drafting experience preferably in land surveying or civil engineering. Great written and oral communication skills are vital. A willingness to be coachable and the attitude to do whatever it takes for us to meet (and exceed) our clients’ needs is an important characteristic. Our Surveying Staff works closely with our Engineering Staff and being able to articulate your knowledge and ideas effectively is vital to our success..

Civil Engineer | Roanoke and Richmond

We are currently searching for another great Team Member in our Roanoke and Richmond Engineering Departments with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (or a related field). We prefer candidates with 2-5 years of experience in Civil3D software and the ability to prepare Site Civil Plans for land development projects. These plans include but are not limited to Utility, Grading, Erosion Control, and Stormwater Management plans. Candidates shall have an understanding of current regulations pertaining to Stormwater Management and have the ability to perform calculations pertaining to these regulations.

Great written and oral communication skills are vital. A willingness to be coachable and the attitude to do whatever it takes for us to meet (and exceed) our clients’ needs is an important characteristic. Our Engineering Staff works closely with our Surveying Staff and being able to articulate your knowledge and ideas effectively is vital to our success. We prefer candidates with an EIT/PE license.

Land Survey Project Manager | Roanoke

We are currently searching for another great Team Member in our Roanoke Surveying Department. Although surveying has been around since the beginning of time, there have been significant improvements in the methods and equipment. We want to offer our clients the most state-of-the-art services while increasing the productivity of our employees. We are committed to investing the financial resources and time to ensure that we provide the most up-to-date information to our clients. All of our survey crews use equipment less than 2 years old with blue tooth technology. These one-man robotic stations have significantly reduced the amount of time necessary to collect data in the field and have improved the accuracy of our surveys. We are constantly trying to find new methods and equipment to successfully meet the needs of our clients and create a positive and supportive work environment.

Our new Land Survey Project Manager needs at least 5 years of experience in land surveying and a LS license is preferred. Civil 3D is a must along with great written and oral communication skills. A willingness to be coachable and the attitude to do whatever it takes for us to meet (and exceed) our client’s needs is an important characteristics of our new Land Survey Project Manager. Our Surveying Staff of 6 works closely with our Engineering Staff and being able to articulate your knowledge and ideas effectively is vital to our success. Leadership and supervisory skills are also key in this position. This position involves both indoor drafting work along with outdoor data collection work. You will need a valid driver’s license and must be physically fit to handle long hikes in the Blue Ridge Mountains!

Stormwater Inspector | Roanoke and Richmond

Our Roanoke and Richmond offices are looking for a full-time self-motivated team-player to fill the position of Stormwater Inspector. The selected individual will inspect construction sites for compliance with stormwater regulations and is responsible for ensuring site compliance with all applicable VPDES Construction General Permits and the project Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). This is primarily a field position requiring the majority of the work hours to be spent on project sites.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Conduct routine site inspections as specified in the SWPPP
  • Read and understand civil construction plans and topographical maps in order to verify site compliance
  • Identify BMP issues and coordinate with contractors to address items needed to bring the site back into compliance
  • Communicate inspection results with project team
  • Complete SWPPP Inspection Reports and Update SWPPP in a timely manner
  • Assist with closed circuit television (CCTV) inspections to evaluate pipe conditions

‍Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of stormwater regulations, construction practices, BMPs and VPDES regulations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well individually with minimal supervision and as a team player
  • Ability to maintain own schedule and meet deadlines
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Capable of walking long distances on potentially difficult terrain
  • Willingness to attend training classes to obtain industry certifications as necessary
  • DEQ SWM/ESC Inspector certification a plus
